Flying car orders surge, selling for more than 2 million

Recently, Alef Aeronautics said it had received 2,500 pre-orders, of which 2,100 were from individual customers and another 400 were from corporate customers.
Founded in 2015, Alef Aeronautics mainly develops and produces flying cars. After its establishment, it received investment from SpaceX, founded by Musk, and also received support from many well-known investors.

Previously, the Model A, an electric flying car developed and designed by Alef Aeronautics, obtained a legal flight license in the United States and became the world's first electric flying car that can both fly and run.

Flying cars become a reality

According to public information from the media, the design mileage of the new Model A car is about 300 kilometers. Its exterior design comes from a Swedish car designer. It is a spherical carriage with a double-seat layout. The carriage uses an all-glass shell and is independent of the outer body.

In terms of specific flight, Model A can not only take off and land vertically like a helicopter, but also drive on the road like a traditional car. When running on the ground, Model A can be regarded as a "low-speed vehicle" and can only travel at a speed of about 40 kilometers per hour or less.

From the perspective of loading, according to the design, this flying car will use eight propellers to take off vertically, which can fully guarantee the power problem during flight, and can satisfy one or two passengers. Most of the vehicle's mesh top body is filled with air. .

This vertical take-off technology has been widely used in the drone industry before, and Alef Aeronautics has tested it with two prototypes. As a flying car, this is crucial to the exterior design, "the fuselage rotates 90 degrees around its long axis, which can change from upward flight to forward flight. When the rotation is activated, one side of the body becomes the top wing, and the other The side becomes the bottom wing." When driving, the driver chooses to put his hands flat and point his fingers forward. When it flies up, the driver twists his hands to achieve windward travel.

At present, Model A has begun to place orders, so in the long run, with the maturity of technology and the formulation of regulations, flying cars will gradually enter the commercialization stage, and the initial application may be piloted in specific areas, and then gradually expanded to more broad market.
